The UIPI 40th international Congress titled: 'Efficient energy performance for low costs and sustainable development' was successfully concluded in Stockholm, Sweden, under the presidency of Stratos Paradias. Mrs Ulla Johansson, president of Villaagarnas Riksforbund, welcomed the congressists from almost 20 different countries, while the main speaker was European Commission representative Mr. Georgios Katsarakis (DG Enterprise & Industry). The NLA Property Women Awards launches across the UK today. Winners from each region will be selected as well as the Green Property Woman of the Year rewarding eco-conscious behaviour and the Young Property Woman of the Year for all women under 30 who have already made their mark on the property market. A friendly settlement which includes compensation of 262.500 euros, has been reached between the Polish Government and Mrs Maria Hutten-Czapska, after the European Court of Human Rights' extremely important unanimous judgment in the "pilot case" of Hutten-Czapska v. Poland (appl. no. 35014/97), in which the Court considered that the rent control system in Poland violates the property rights of 100.000 landowners in Poland...
