To the EU initiatives relevant to Private Home Owners (PHO) and especially Energy taxation and the Capital Requirement Directive is the Homeowners Committee of the UIPI during its upcoming meeting in Berlin (Oct. 13). Other matters will be the status concerning national policies for the energy performance of private homes and the FIT prices. The Committee will also concentrate in programming its future work and priorities and other organizational matters.
UIPI organized an event dedicated to the problems of Property Restitution in countries of Western Balkans on 30.11.2010 in Brussels, aiming to provide further insights into the situation of property restitution following the work already done on behalf of the European Parliament Petitions Committee in relation to UIPI Petition (No 0665/2006). EP Vice President Edward McMillan-Scott presented his remarks in the Conference. A summary of the study commissioned by the European Parliament and national reports by UIPI members organisations from Albania, Croatia, Romania and Serbia was presented by its authors and a representative of the DG Enlargement explained the Commission's position on the matter. The Training for Rebuilding Europe (TRAINREBUILD) is an EU funded project that brings together highly influential organisations representing the whole value chain of the building sector. The purpose of the programme is to provide advice to European property owners on improving the energy efficiency of their buildings. The UIPI part is headed by Assistant Secr.
